Fall Loaf Exchange - Hosted by Dar Supper Club
NO LOAF, NO ENTRY Welcome to The Loov's first ever Loaf Exchange and Contest, hosted by Lala and Liliana! We upped our game this year and added fall-festival-style ~sideshows~ and activities to make it easier to get to know your fellow bakers.
the plan: You show up with a homemade loaf (e.g., banana bread, pumpkin bread, the sky’s the limit). You set it out on a table. You receive a box and collect slices from other bakers. You go home with 12 NEW slices of quick bread! Please arrive at 4pm to set up your loaf, mingle, and check out our fall festival themed ~sideshows~. We start the exchange promptly at 4:45pm and keep going until the slices are gone!
the loaves: Bring classic quick breads, fancy ones, savoury loaves, any loaf of your invention,(surprise us). Just bring a minimum of one loaf to exchange! And please remember to SLICE your loaf per the diagram below!
the ticket: Your $25 ticket covers the cost of the space rental, labour, activities, prizes, little snacks, and supplies for the night.
loaf judging contest: Submit your loaf to get judged! Prettiest Loaf, Most Inventive Loaf, and Best Classic Loaf receive prizes. Judges TBA.
allergies: We’re going to try to keep nutty loaves on their own table. But since this is a community event, there is 100% going to be cross contamination.

Everyone loves Portrait Club. It’s the community-centered portrait session where one cherished community member brings their favorite cool outfits and everyone draws them and hugs and cries. Seriously it’s an absolute banger.

Y'all know the drill. Open mic (kinda), variety show, absolute banger. Best crowd in the city, feel it to believe it.
Yes & Everything is a big loud fun show that showcases all sorts of local talent, from magic to music to acrobats to drag queens. We've got big sound, big emcees, cabaret-style seating & vibes. Patrons have described it as "it's hard to tell where the art ends and the venue begins." That is to say, it's good to bring this show home.
Another quote: "I invited four of my friends tonight but one couldnt make and the other one couldnt get in. How do I explain the show to them? It’s so unique and different. There truly isn't a way to explain what I just witnessed tonight."

A joint production between Duende Sessions, The Loov, Flamenco Boston, and First Crush Boston, this collaboration will bring together fantastic performers, hand-picked Spanish wine, and great vibes.

This is Justin’s FIRST time producing & facilitating a figurative art event at The Loov! Big fucking deal y’all.
For this we’re bringing in LIVE MUSICIANS to perform and be your models! We’re blending the senses, people; music, art, salami (taste).
Justin’s got a wild run of show prepared. All sorts of nuanced prompts, artistic guidance, it’s going to be great! The night will progress with longer songs and longer poses. Although… it’s kinda like drawing on a train. We’re capturing a vibe.
Y’all are encouraged to break out your paints and colored pastels for this one! We’ll have some acrylic paint for you if you don’t have any.

If you've ever thought "hey, figure modeling would be cool" - but haven't known how to pull the trigger - this Wednesday's session is for you!
Volunteer models will be able to pose for 1-2 poses (depending on interest) and try out figure modeling!
You are welcome to come draw even if you don't want to model.
