Annual Cookie Swap & Contest
Welcome to The Loov's first ever Cookie Swap and Contest, hosted by Dar Supper Club! ˚ ༘ ೀ⋆🍪｡˚ the plan: you show up with a minimum of 24 cookies (homemade only, please). You set them out on a table. You get a box and collect other cookies you like. You go home with 24 NEW cookies! Please arrive at 4pm to set up your cookies, mingle, and eat snacks. We start the exchange promptly at 4:45pm and keep going until the cookies are gone! ˚ ༘ ೀ⋆🍪｡˚ the cookies: bring basic cookies, fancy cookies, classic cookies, huge cookies, dainty little cookies, a cookie from a family recipe, a cookie you invented, international cookies (alfajores, biscuits, ma'moul, etc), savoury cookies (surprise me). Just bring a minimum of two dozen cookies of the same type to exchange!

I keep having to write descriptions for long pose and frankly I’m DONE! It’s long pose. It’s great, but the description I feel like is redundant. Notably, it’s an additional recurring figure drawing night so if Tuesday nights are too crowded for ya or not great for your schedule but you still want a consistent crew, come to Mondays.
Ziad Rahbani Tribute Concert
Ziad Rahbani (زياد الرحباني; January 1956 – 26 July 2025) was a Lebanese composer, pianist, playwright and political commentator. He was the son of Fairuz, one of Lebanon and the Arab world's most famous singers, and Assi Rahbani, one of the founders of modern Arabic music. He was considered one of the most influential artists in modern Lebanese history, remembered for his wit, creativity, and refusal to conform.
The Concert is a special night of music, song, and memories to celebrate the life and work of Ziad. Featuring Layan Hawila on Oud and Vocals, and the Souq El-Jum3a ensemble, which will include oud, qanoun, accordion, violin, trombone, bass, percussion, and vocalist Marwa Morgan. All of the proceeds from the concert will be split with The Loov to expand the space's audio capacity to hold more concerts like this one in the future. The remaining proceeds will be donated to Beit Atfal Assumoud to aid their cultural music and dance programs working with Palestinian refugee youth in Lebanon.

Erin Morris is a teacher (random but noble) and a founding/central member of the improv troupe that performed at the first variety show! She’s going to be our comedy point-person and pilot her dream comedy show where she brings comedy people from all corners of the local comedy universe (sketch, improv, standup, etc) together for a memorable night. She’s hilarious and gets shit done and I’m thrilled to throw my weight behind her.

We draw him & Arby doing all sorts of cool shapes with knots (including suspension) and he educates people a bit on the ethos of bondage and how to do some knots. It was super fun and popular last time and a totally fun new scene. $30
