Door
Upon arrival, please check in with the night’s facilitator.
Door person is a very important position! You’re responsible for two things:
Collecting $
Welcoming and orienting newcomers
Maintaining Capacity
Selling supplies & stickers
You should be equipped with:
A person-counter
$30 cash for change
A “Square” terminal for accepting card payments
a laminated QR code for venmo payments (in the event the Square terminal is not working)
a laminated “at capacity” sign
Timing
You should arrive at The Loov at 5:30, as people often start entering at 5:45. You will stay at your post until 7:15
Orienting People
You are their first impression. Be friendly and introduce yourself! As it feels natural, ask people if it’s their first time. If it is, here are a few things to remind them:
Overall: if you have any questions, ask anyone. Regulars abound
It is first-come first-served: if you see a seat or an easel, take it!
Direct people to bathrooms, supplies, snacks.
Payments
You can collect payments via:
Cash
Card
If those options don’t work:
Venmo (direct people to the QR code)
Check (made out to Life Drawing Boston LLC)
Zelle (use number 2406784399)
Counter
You will be equipped with an analog counter and a walkie talkie. When the crowd seems to be approaching capacity (the host will tell you what that number is), use your walkie to check the count at the other door. Once you hit capacity, put the “at capacity” sign on the outside of the door. Do not make exceptions for people who say they have a friend inside, etc.
Setup Assistant
Setup Assistant is responsible for helping David set up Tuesday night figure drawing.
Timing
Please arrive at 4:30.
Food
Food for your night will be in two places. In the black mini-fridge near the sink, you will find a bag labeled with your day on it. In the cabinets near the fridge, you will also find a bag labeled with your day.
